ABOUT
The Challenge
The Urban Challenge is an invitation to extend yourself beyond the boundaries of your hometown into the neighborhoods of Springfield, Massachusetts, the fourth largest city in New England. This multi-day program can function as an alternative spring break, a confirmation retreat, or an unique service trip. It is appropriate for youth and adult participants who want to learn more about the challenges and joys found in cities. This urban immersion will offer opportunities to spend time with people facing the challenges of poverty and with organizations that work to advocate for and support city residents.
Urban Potential
Urban Challenge is one branch of the nonprofit organization, Urban Potential (UP). Urban Potential was classified by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a 501(c)(3) on October 4, 2016, as a non-faith-based organization utilizing space in the Trinity Church buildings to administer Urban Potential's community programs.
The mission of Urban Potential is to celebrate, enrich and support urban life in the Greater Springfield area and promote the joys of living in our city through education, the arts and community partnerships. To learn more about Urban Potential and its other two branches, visit our website. |
